About us

My husband and I first fell in love with Labradors in 1979 when we adopted 2 puppies Sheba and Prince from our local SPCA. As the puppies matured and our family grew we knew we were hooked on this breed With there amazing temperament and absolute loyalty to us being great watch dogs and at the same time showing so much patience with the children.

Jesandow a tribute to our dogs.

Jessie (the Jes in Jesandow entered our lives a beautiful black girl full of energy. Always ready to play with any or all 3 children. Jessie loved to swim in the pool or the river when accompanying us on family picnics. When we decided to add another dog to the family we visited a local  Labrador breeder who had a litter of yellow puppies we  fell in love with a big yellow  male and so Shadow ( the dow in Jesandow ) joined us..Shadow grew into a handsome adult dog with a lovely temperament. We had 2 lovely black and yellow litters from Jessie and Shadow . In 2001 we were looking for our next Lab and this is when our yellow girl Angel ( the an in Jesandow) came into our life . Angel lived up to her name being such a sweet and gentle girl a real angel but sadly we had to make the decision to have her put to sleep at the age of 15.

In 2012 after spending many hours on the internet looking at Labrador breeders websites I began planning my own kennel. I added my name to the waiting list at a local breeder and in May 2013 we went to collect our beautiful black puppy our foundation bitch Amadeuze Eyota Eskyla. (Sky) I registered Jesandow with KUSA and Sky became the first registered dog of Jesandow.

Toward the end of 2013 the search began for a yellow male to add to our family I studied breeders sites for up coming litters.By February 2014 my name was on a waiting list once again. In April  Ablesing Labrador's litter arrived and the 8 week wait for Ablesing Shakima Gold to join us began.Shakima has grown into a gorgeous dog with a lovely temperament we are very proud to have him in our kennel
Our first Champion

CH Ablesing Shakima Gold of Jesandow was awarded championship  status by KUSA in April 2018

At the end of 2014 i made the decision to start entering some shows .In our first show  Sky was awarded 3rd place in her class and Shakima was awarded baby puppy. That's when I knew i was hooked on showing my dogs. It was around this time that i started looking for a yellow female as Sky who is dominant black will only ever have black puppies.

In March of 2015 Juanita from Ablesing Labradors offered Àblesing Moja Pani  to me. I imediatly fell in love with this shy girl who has over time come out of her shell. She is such a sweet girl and quickly became part of our team with no problem. Moja has also had success in the show ring winning best puppy in show in her 2nd show.

Excitement mounted in July 2015 as our first long awaited litter of 7 beautiful black puppies arrived. They were born and raised in the house with us. I spent many hours watching them grow and develop each with their own personality Although raising a litter is hard work i loved every minute of it. 8 weeks goes by so quickly and all too soon its time for them to leave us. A sad and emotional time for us but all the hard work is worth it just to see the love and joy written all over the new owners faces.

New members of Jesandow are Jesandow Apache Warrior (Ryder),who has already done so well in the show ring.  Jesandow Akira (Kira), Jesandow Barny ( Barney ) who has done us very proud in the show ring being awarded several Baby puppy awards and Best Baby puppy in show at the LRKC Championship show. Our newest member Lambrada Cherokee Girl of Jesandow( Dakota )   My days are full and happy spending time with my dogs, doing daily obeidience training, show training and play time.
