Registering a dog

Posted by Eileen on Sunday 18th February 2024 at 11:58:06
Nowadays there are at least 4 registries plus breed-specific registries like SA Sheepdog Assoc. People who buy puppies don’t know the difference. Once their pup is grown they sometimes think of breeding only to find the mate is reg with a different registry. The variety of registries is causing confusion, so I just stick to one - KUSA - The Kennel Union of Southern Africa. There are advantages of registering with KUSA, eg folk can reg their dog overseas if it’s reg with KUSA when they emigrate, and they can enter their dog in KUSA's dog shows where it may become a champion. You and I have a "registration" certificate - namely a birth certificate, which shows our "breed" (nationality) and "pedigree" (our parents' names). It entitles us to live as citizens in our country of birth. Of course if we don't abide by the law of the land, we'll be kicked out. We are also citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives, providing we live by the rules that Jesus taught. Philippians 3, 20
